Truong Nguyen is currently a Professor and Chair of the Electrical and
Computer Engineering Department at University of California, San Diego.
He received his BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees at Caltech, in 1985, 1986 and 1989, respectively.
He is an expert in Digital Signal Processing, Digital Image/Video Processing,
Filter Bank and Wavelets, 3D video processing. He co-authored a popular textbook on Wavelets & Filter
Banks with Prof. Gilbert Strang at MIT. His current research interests include
designing systems to create immersive, panoramic stereo contents; applications
of video processing and machine learning in Health-care applications.
